Application and initiation fees are listed at the top of the page. We believe them to be generously low and understand that prospective members need to know them before concerning themselves with details of the process.

Following the fees section is a description of how to become a member, but a club officer will guide you through the procedure once you submit your application.

Application and Initiation Fees.

There's a $50 non-refundable application fee that must accompany your application for membership. If accepted into the club you will then pay a $1,000 initiation fee.

The Process

To join the Pittsburgh Flying Club, Inc. you must complete a membership application and mail the form and the application fee to the address shown on the contacts page.

Upon our receiving your application a club officer will contact you to schedule an interview. He will verify your personal information and will review our Bylaws and Rules and Regulations with you. If you accept the club rules and desire to become a member you will pay the initiation fee at this time.

Shortly after the interview there will be an orientation at the airport where you will be shown our aircraft and will be walked through the tachometer and squawk sheet procedures, your post-flight maintenance responsibilities, and how to properly store the airplane. You will receive a set of keys to the Archer and to the hangar and you will be assigned a logon id to our online reservation system. Your next step is to schedule a club check ride to be signed off in the operation of the aircraft. During this period you will be considered a probationary member of the flying club.

After you have been a probationary member for 30 days the club at one of its regular meetings will vote on accepting you as a permanent member. Please try to attend so we can welcome you in person.

Welcome to the Pittsburgh Flying Club. Let's go flying!
